Quarantine

Covid 19 is a pandemic that no one will ever forget. It has effected everyone, worldwide. I experienced being in quarantine in two different countries, firstly in the Philippines and then in England. Both countries have been very different, most especially as have very different governments and therefore different guidelines and measures.
In the Philippines, it began with a curfew at 8pm, which then changed to schools not having classes, then eventually to a complete lockdown. Philippines was one of the first countries to go on lockdown. Other countries then followed. I was able to keep up with a routine of waking up early in the morning, doing my workout outside, and catching up on school work and tv shows. In April, the admin had sent out a letter informing residents that they were required to stay in their homes. This is when the lockdown got harder.
No one knew what the plan was in the Philippines. Everyone felt as if they just kept waiting on the government to announced anything new. The lockdown would slowly get better, shops would open one by one, some even began delivering, however, it still did not feel as if it was back to normal. And when some restaurants did open it was very restricted (as they did want to be cautious).
The government then announced they were allowing airlines to start functions again, however, I had recently enrolled in my school and we hadn’t had a schedule yet, once I got that, we planned for when I can leave to got to the UK.
Once I got on the plane, it was fully packed. There was no social distancing, it made me feel uncomfortable. But Once I landed I felt relieved I could walk around.
Once I landed I was required to self quarantine for 14 days. I stayed in an Air bnb during that time. I felt relaxed whilst in quarantine, I was allowed to go outside to get groceries and to exercise. I found a field just around the corner from where I was staying, so I didn’t need to go too far to jog, as well as there being a park by the shops in case I needed anything.
Quarantine in England made me feel as if life was somewhat back to normal. It made my mind and body feel much more relaxed about the pandemic. Currently, I am not in quarantine anymore, I am able to still do my classes online from the Philippines, so I can still do my school work whilst being able go out and enjoy the cold weather. I do not know much about the current situation in the Philippines, just that at the moment, they are allowed to go out after recent going back to extreme lockdown. Hopefully once I get back, the Philippines feels well homey again and everyone is taking precautions for everyone to stay safe.
